How to wear colbat and teal

Unexpected color combinations can be fun, but usually they aren't my cup of tea. Which means this outfit was a little out of my comfort zone. Teal and cobalt weren't on my to-do list, but somehow it came together for a busy day. I added a neutral pair of brown boots and the brown braided belt to help break up the colors. Since it is already a bright combination, I kept accessories simple as well. That's my trick to bright, unexpected outfits - let the colors or prints stand out, and stick to neutral and simple accessories.

This skirt is one of my favorite vintage pieces because of the classic shape and knee-length hem. I snatched it up in a clothing swap with my best friend last spring. And last time I remixed it, the weather was much warmer. Next time, it will be with a thick pair of tights and my favorite oxford heels for winter. Gotta love a skirt that will carry you through the seasons.
