Thrifter Thursday: denim vests and paisley

Thursday already? Where did the rest of the week go? It's time for another round of Thrifter Thursday and my item of the week is the remnants of a DIY project gone wrong. Also known as the denim vest you see below. I ripped the sleeves off an old denim jacket I had picked up at Value Village years ago. And even shared the super easy re-purpose on College Fashion. Sadly, it's become a new favorite for the summer months.

I threw said vest over a maxi dress and simple accessories for a day at the office and an evening out with friends. Even though a shoulder-baring dress isn't against the non-existent dress code at my office, I always feel a little more professional covered up. Yes, a choppy denim vest makes me feel better about myself. Welcome to summer, where sartorial inhibitions are low and Callie doesn't care as much.
